Consider the Lilies

Consider the Lilies what a peaceful and tender phrase. When I think of my children I am so grateful for them and how sweet they are. How the Lord has blessed us with so much! With the worlds turmoil and doom and gloom it gives me such strength to know that we are all being watched over.

In the sermon on the Mount, Jesus said:

25 Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on....

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? ...

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. ...
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 ...for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be fadded unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take
thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

This beautiful song by Roger Hoffman is an expression of these words: - Video

Consider the lilies of the field,How they grow, how they grow.
Consider the birds in the sky,How they fly, how they fly.
He clothes the lilies of the field. He feeds the birds in the sky.
And He will feed those who trust Him,And guide them with His eye.
Consider the sheep of His fold,How they follow where He leads.
Though the path may wind across the mountains,
He knows the meadows where they feed.
He clothes the lilies of the field. He feeds the birds in the sky,
And He will feed those who trust Him,And guide them with His eye.
Consider the sweet, tender childrenWho must suffer on this earth.
The pains of all of them He carriedFrom the day of His birth.
He clothes the lilies of the field,He feeds the lambs in His fold,
And He will heal those who trust Him,And make their hearts as gold.

Your kids are the cutest! This is my favorite CD to listen to on Sunday mornings (amid the loud antics of the kids, of course). Wish I could listen to it 24/7. Thanks for the reminder of priorities and "taking no thought of tomorrow." Definitely a test of faith. I'm such a worrier that way.

Fun Angel game! We've been trying to find the perfect time to go. Soon, soon.
